Verneal Morin- Owner & Artistic Director of Vdanse Studios.  

 

She loves teaching dance and pilates and is following her dream while sharing her love of movement with others.  Verneal has been teaching dance for 19 years.  Teaching students from the age of 20 months through adults. She specializes in everything from Program Direction, Dancer Development, Pilates Mat & Reformer, Competition Teams, Recreational Programs, Creative Movement, International Latin Ballroom, Social Ballroom Dance, and all styles of Performing Arts Dance. Also specializing in Wedding Dance Choreography and Professional show productions for special occasions. Vdanse Studios is an award-winning studio that has many regional and national accolades and titles. Verneal has her accredited Pilates Mat, Reformer, and Trapeze Certification with D.K. Body Balancing Method. Additional certifications include Progressing Ballet Technique and Progressing Contemporary Technique. 

 

 

Born in New Mexico she was introduced to the art of dance at the age of 2. While enrolled in Cassidy's Sundance Studio she studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, and Gymnastics. Throughout her childhood, she continued studying a variety of dance styles. While attending the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance, It was there that she studied under Karen Stokes, Teresa Chapman, Becky Valls, Jeanne Doornbos, and Naomi Glass.

While attending U of H Verneal had the opportunity to work with various guest artists including Dominic Walsh and company, Pilobolus dance company, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, Suchu Dance, and Psophonia Dance. 

 

Verneal explored the world of Ballroom Dance at the Legendary Kings Dancing Centre where she trained primarily in International Latin Ballroom. Verneal was trained by  Barbara King owner of Kings Dancing Center, Billy King, and  Kevin King. While having the blessing to have such great coaches on a daily basis, she also had the opportunity to work with and be exposed to many other ballroom coaches including Colin James, Louis Van Amstel, and Corky Ballas at Kings Dancing Centre. 

 

During her professional dance career, she danced with her partner Stefan Golubovic, Barbara King Dance Company, and Guaguanco Dance Company. Dancing as a freelance artist her performances include the Latin Grammy Awards 2008, Galas and Charity events, Dance Houston productions, Dance of Asian America, Miller Outdoor Theatre Performances, and Miss. Houston and Miss. Teen Texas pageants.

 

Verneal choreographed theatre productions including a Fosse-inspired segment in a choir production held at Jones Hall in affiliation with Barbara King. She was a Choreographer for the production of Pippin for Houston Community College. She has choreographed many award-winning solo, duet/trio, and group dances.  

 

As a dancer, she was surrounded by Makeup Artists and Verneal developed a passion for this art. While Learning techniques from makeup artists, and having to always apply makeup on herself as well as others, she fell into becoming a freelance makeup artist for Ballroom competitions, Dance Competitions, Photo Shoots, and Weddings. Working with photographer Nikki Guest (http://www.nikkiguest.com) was one of her favorite experiences! 

 

Verneal continues to live with passion and share her love of Movement with everyone!
